Md. Selim

Selim is a CNG driver. He had stones in his liver and gallbladder. His condition was so bad that he was unable to do any work. As the only earning member of the family he didn't have anyone else to support his treatment or his family. So he contacted us for help. Now, he's doing better with the treatment.

Abdur Rouf

Abdur used to drive auto-rickshaw. He had a severe skin disease. It spread all over his body. It was very difficult for him to continue with his daily activities. With the treatment, He's also doing much better now.

Yeasin Miyaji

He was suffering from cancer (Pancreatic) since 2023. We received his application on the 19th of April 2025. Unfortunately, before we could process his application, he passed away on the 23rd. However, the cost of his treatment left a huge burden on his family. Considering their dire situation, we decided to give the Zakat to Yeasin’s wife, Khaleda.

Nurjahan Begum

Nurjahan was suffering from gallstones and gallbladder inflammation. We were able to give her some amount for the treatment. However, she died unfortunately. So, the rest of the amount was sent to her sons so they can pay the rest of the medical bills and debts.

Asif Iqbal
Asif Iqbal

Asif had a tumor in his leg. So, they had to amputate his leg above the knee. Unfortunately, the infection spread to his blood making it difficult to treat. Due to the cost of the complex treatment, his family went into debt. As Asif cannot work anymore, his whole family is now dependent on his elderly father. So, we have given him the Zakat to pay for his treatment and to pay off some of the debts.

Donate Zakat for Children

Zakat is considered a form of worship and an act of charitable giving that promotes social justice and helps to alleviate poverty. One group that is often the recipient of zakat is unprivileged children, who may be living in poverty, experiencing homelessness, or lacking access to education and other basic necessities.

There's often some confusions about how much should be donated as zakat or what is Nisab amount. It is the threshold amount that must be exceeded by savings, capital, or a commodity for the Muslim owner to be required to pay zakat. Zakat is calculated as 2.5% of your total financial holdings, excluding those utilized for living expenses. The current prices of gold and silver have a direct impact on the nisab value. As of March 2023, the Nisab amount was computed using 3 oz/85 grams of pure gold, which is $5010, and 612.36g of silver, which is $419.27.

To ensure that zakat is being used effectively to benefit unprivileged children, count on Shapla Foundation. For years with your donation, we strive to change the future of unprivileged children. We are a non-profit organization and are focused on children's issues.

There are several ways that zakat can be used to benefit unprivileged children. For example-
  • To provide financial assistance to families who are struggling to make ends meet
  • To provide food, clothing, etc.
  • To support children's education and healthcare needs.
  • To fund programs and initiatives that directly benefit children, such as after-school tutoring, and sports programs.

So, if you are looking for a proper and reliable medium to make sure that your zakat is actually helping the needy, donate it to Shapla.

Whatever you pay as interest so that it may increase the wealth of people does not increase in the sight of Allah. As for the Zakah that you give, seeking with it Allah's good pleasure, that is multiplied manifold.
