Pohela Boishakh is always a special time of the year, a celebration of new beginnings, culture, and togetherness. This year, we had the absolute joy of celebrating the Bengali New Year with our sponsored children, and it turned into a day full of color, creativity, and pure happiness.
From the very beginning, the children showed incredible enthusiasm. They embraced the spirit of the occasion with open hearts and bright smiles. What made the celebration even more special was how involved they were in preparing for the day. Using colorful paper, the children crafted beautiful decorations with their own hands. Each piece reflected their creativity and excitement. They decorated their space with such care and pride. It truly transformed the environment into a festive and lively setting. One of the most heartwarming moments was seeing them draw alpana (designs) on their hands and faces using vibrant colors. The laughter, the concentration, and the joy on their faces said it all. It wasn’t just an activity, it was an expression of culture, identity, and celebration.
Of course, no celebration is complete without treats! We arranged some delicious sweets and snacks for them, and they absolutely loved it. Sharing food together added another layer of joy to the day.
What stood out the most was how deeply the children connected with the celebration. Their excitement, creativity, and happiness reminded us of the true essence of Pohela Boishakh that is welcoming a new year with hope, joy, and togetherness.
It was more than just a celebration. It was a day filled with memories, smiles, and a beautiful sense of belonging.
