Every year on March 26, Bangladesh celebrates its independence. Bangladesh's national holiday honors the day that the nation declared its independence from Pakistan. Parades, speeches, fairs, and ceremonial events mark the day in remembrance of that momentous day in 1971.
Our sponsored children marked the occasion with vibrant drawings. Some of them drew the Bangladeshi flag, some the National Monument, and others drew various objects that represent the core of our freedom. The schools held the event earlier this month because the day fell during Ramadan. Our kids participated there as well. They observed the event with the utmost respect.
