As temperatures continue to rise, understanding how to stay safe during extreme heat has become more important than ever. To help our sponsored children become more aware of heat-related health risks, we recently organized a Heatstroke Awareness Program.
During the session, the children learned what heatstroke is, the common symptoms to watch out for, and the immediate steps that should be taken if someone is affected. They also discussed practical ways to stay safe during hot weather, such as drinking enough water, avoiding direct sunlight for long periods, wearing light clothing, and taking proper rest.
What made this program especially meaningful was the children’s active participation in a wall magazine activity afterward. Using colorful drawings, handwritten notes, and creative designs, the children expressed what they learned about heatstroke prevention and awareness. The wall magazines became a wonderful way for them to share important health information while also developing their creativity and teamwork.
