Shapla Foundation is officially in business. On May 27th, 2011, We had an inauguration ceremony in Noakhali, Bangladesh. With more than 300 people in attendance, Shapla Foundation made official announcements of it's existance to the public.
The village we are currently operating in is called Topadar Pool. We are currently servicing 3 villages in Noakhali: Topadar Pool, Amanatpur and Begumgonj. We had 300+ people show up from the 3 villages and some outside guests from Dhaka and USA. It was a great event where we talked about our mission with the Foundation and got a chance to listed to one of the children we are currently sponsoring. Of course, we provided snacks for all guests.
Allen Alam, one of the founders, organized the whole event and it was a great succes. Jon Horton and Shoshan from Houston were in attendance along with Allen and myself (Evan Islam). Several people from Dhaka came to support us and below are some pictures from the ceremony.
